Dr MR Khan urges all to protect youths from smoking, drug addiction

National Professor Dr MR Khan urged on Friday all to come forward to strengthen ADHUNIK (We Prevent Smoking), a national anti-tobacco organisation, to keep the young generation away from smoking and drug addiction, reports UNB.
Dr MR Khan, also Chairman of the ADHUNIK National Coordination Committee, came up with the call at a views-exchange meeting with the officials of anti-tobacco organisations at his Central Hospital office in the city.
He said the country's young generation will be crippled if the misuse of smoking and drugs cannot be contained.
President of ADHUNIK Amanullah Khan gave the welcome speech at the views-exchange meeting while Secretary General of CAT freedom fighter Amjad Ali and member of CAT Professor Shamsuzzaman spoke at the programme with President of CAT and ADHUNIK National Coordination Committee member secretary Ali Neyamat in the chair.
A proposal was placed at the views-exchange meeting to inspect 78 branches of ADHUNIK across the country to strengthen its activities.
President of CAT Ali Neyamat announced at the meeting that they will celebrate the 86th birth anniversary of Professor Dr MR Khan on August 1 as the 'Shishu Bandhu Seba Dibos 2015'.
The celebration will start with a rally in front of Shishu Sasthya Hospital in Mirpur. Discussion meetings and doa mahfils will be held at the Shishu Sasthya Hospital and Central Hospital on the day.
