DSCC clears footpaths of illegal shops

The authorities of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) removed some illegally built makeshift shops from footpaths conducting a mobile court drive in different areas of the capital on Sunday.

Executive magistrate of the DSCC Afifa Khan led the drive covering Motijheel Shapla Chattar, Fakirapool, Dayaganj and Sayedabad.

The DSCC team demolished several illegally built shops on footpath in Fakirapool area.

It also removed a ticket counter of inter-district bus service Lal Sabuj from footpath in the same area.

Besides, 12 to 15 makeshift shops built illegally on footpath at Shaheed Faruq Road at Dayaganj and Sayedabad Janapad Road were also demolished by the DSCC team.

Public Relations Officer of DSCC Md Abu Naser told the FE that the eviction drive would continue to facilitate smooth vehicular and pedestrian movement.
