DSCC conducts eviction drive

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has conducted an eviction drive against illegal structures to recover the original channel of the river Buriganga from encroachment.

A total of 28 structures including Matador Park, Panna Battery Factory and a ten-storey building that were illegally built on the land of the river's original channel have been partially demolished during the drive.

Executive magistrate and also estate officer of DSCC Md Moniruzzaman led the drive that started from Kalunagar Sluice Gate and ended at Matador Park.

Ward councillors Md Noor-E-Alam and Mohammad Hossain, among others, were present during the drive.
