Dhaka University (DU), Rikkyo University of Japan and Atinew De Manila University of the Philippines are set to launch a joint research project from November 1.
DU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Harun-or-Rashid at a press conference at the university's senate building Wednesday said the project would include student and researcher exchange programme among the three universities to promote higher education. "The project will help the universities to identify the socio-economic problems in their respective countries and make suggestions to resolve them," the DU Pro-VC said.
Four non-government organisations-Grameen Bank and BRAC of Bangladesh and PDA of Thailand and PBSP of the Philippines-are partners in the five-year project.
