The Dhaka University authorities have asked the law enforcing agencies to arrest the students who got admitted at the university through fraudulent means.
Earlier, some 81 students were declared fake at the university's syndicate meeting July 3 after scrutinising their admission documents. A decision was made to cancel their studentships bringing the total figure of cancelled students to 158.
Of the total, 84 are from the Department of International Relations, 44 from Public Administration, 22 from Economics, four from the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, two from Political Science and one each from Management and Chemistry.
The authorities have in the meantime handed over a list of the fake students to the police and intelligence personnel.
The syndicate nullified admission of some 77 fake students June 5 as per the recommendations of the nine-member probe committee headed by DU Pro-VC AFM Yusuf Haider in this regard.
