DU identifies 17 'fake' students

The probe body has once again identified seventeen 'fake' students at different departments of Dhaka University bringing the total to 205 since the drive was started against fake admission.
Out of the newly spotted 17 illegal students, seven are from the Department of Manage-ment, six from Political Science and four from the two departments of Science Faculty.
The disclosure was made Wednesday at a meeting of the fact-finding committee on admission forgery at the university.
Head of the nine-member probe body DU Pro-Vice Chancellor AFM Yusuf Haider said the 17 students, who got admitted to the university through forgery, would be issued show cause notices within a day or two to present their admission papers before the committee.
Their admission will be cancelled if they fail to tender their original admission documents within the stipulated time, the Pro-VC added.
However, the names of the fake students have not been made public.
