Dhaka University (DU) unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) organised a rally on Sunday, protesting mob violence across the country, including the brutal murder of Dipu Chandra Dash in Mymensingh and the tragic death of 7-year-old Ayesha in a fire in Lakshmipur. The rally began at 12:45 pm from the Teacher-Student Center (TSC) and paraded through the campus, including VC Chattar, Mall Chattar, and Central Library and concluded at the Raju Sculpture .

During the procession, the protesters chanted slogans condemning mob violence and criticising the government's failure to take effective action against the perpetrators.

JCD Central President Rakibul Islam Rakib, along with university leaders and activists, participated in the event.

In his speech, DUCSU leader Rakibul Islam Rakib expressed condolences to the families of the victims and demanded that authorities take immediate action against the perpetrators. He urged that concrete steps be announced within 24 hours to ensure accountability and justice.

He also expressed concern over the growing trend of mob violence in the country, noting that it has reached alarming levels in the past year and a half.

"Certain groups are using social media propaganda and exploiting religious sentiments for political gain," he added.

He described recent horrific murders, including the killing of garment worker Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh, who was burned alive and hanged in a public display of brutality. "The level of violence is beyond words. The victim did not commit any crime, nor did he disrespect any religion," Rakibul Islam Rakib said.
