DU retains top position in BD

Dhaka University (DU) has once again emerged as the highest-ranked university in Bangladesh in the QS World University Rankings 2027: Top Global Universities.
For the third consecutive year, DU has secured a place among the world's top 600 universities, reaffirming its position as the country's leading higher education institution.
The information was shared in a press release, issued by DU Public Relations Office on Thursday.
The QS World University Rankings 2027 was published by the United Kingdom-based global higher education and research organisation Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). It evaluated 1,504 universities worldwide based on nine key performance indicators, each carrying a maximum score of 100. The overall ranking was determined by the combined performance of universities across these indicators.
In the latest ranking, DU achieved an overall score of 28.3. The university secured the same score of 28.3 in the 'academic reputation' indicator, reflecting its longstanding contribution to higher education and research.
DU demonstrated strong performance in graduate employability, achieving a score of 95.0 in the 'employment outcomes' indicator. It scored 50.8 in the 'employer reputation' category, indicating positive recognition of its graduates among employers.
The university also maintained a strong position in research and global engagement. It scored 61.1 in the 'international research network' indicator, reflecting its growing international research collaborations. In the 'sustainability' indicator, DU achieved a score of 60.6.
