The pro-BNP teachers' association of Dhaka University (DU), known as "Sada Dal", paid tribute to late President Ziaur Rahman and Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia by visiting their graves, placing wreaths, and offering prayers for them.
The programme was held at Zia Udyan in the capital on Sunday morning. DU Sada Dal Convener Professor Dr Morshed Hasan Khan said Begum Khaleda Zia had left them "guardianless".
Expressing optimism, he added that Tarique Rahman would unite all and lead the country in the right direction.
Among others, present at the programme were DU Sada Dal joint conveners Prof Dr Abdus Salam and Md Abul Kalam Sarker, Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Open University Prof Dr A B M Obaidul Islam, and Pro Vice-Chancellor of National University Prof Md Lutfar Rahman.
