DU starts admission process for honours courses

The authorities of Dhaka University (DU) Thursday started admission process for the honours  courses for the academic session 2014-2015.

Vice Chancellor of the university Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique formally launched the online admission process at 2:00pm on the day.  

Arts Faculty Dean Prof Sadrul Amin, Social Science Faculty Dean Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed and the admission subcommittee convener Prof Hasibur Rashid were present on the occasion.

Like the previous year, the university authorities will complete the admission test process through online and eligible candidates have been asked to apply through admission website http://admission.eis.du.ac.bd/ by August 31, 2014.

This year Tk 350 has been fixed as application fee including a bank charge.

Payment can be paid through any branch of state-owned four banks-Agrani, Janata, Rupali and Sonali. And all the update of the admission process will be informed through the given cell-phone numbers.

Besides general instructions regarding the admission process are available at the university's admission website and students also can take support from the helpline 01753492522, 01753906330, (02)-9669934, (02)-9661900 Ext. 4052, 4054 that are available round the clock.

According to the notice, students who cleared the higher secondary certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations with required results in 2013 and 2014 can apply for the admission.

This year minimum CGPA-8, excluding additional subject, has been fixed as primary requirement for the science group, CGPA-7 for the arts group, CGPA 7.5 for commerce group, while CGPA 6.5 for the Fine Arts admission.

'Ga Unit' admission test will be held on September 05, Ka Unit on September 12, Cha Unit on 13, September 19, and Gha Unit on September 26.
