DU Syndicate suspends four teachers

The Dhaka University (DU) has temporarily suspended four teachers over allegations of controversial conduct during the July Uprising, including accusations of labelling protesting students as "razakars" and issuing threats.
The decision was taken at a Syndicate meeting on Monday night, chaired by DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam.
The suspended faculty members are Prof Dr. Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah of Dept of Public Administration, Prof Dr. A. K. M. Jamal Uddin of Dept of Sociology, Prof Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam of Dept of Banking and Insurance, and Prof Dr. Mohammad Azmal Hossain Bhuiyan of Dept of Botany.
In addition, the university authorities also suspended an official, Lavlu Mollah Shishir.
Meanwhile, Prof Choudhury Md. Tashrik-e-Habib of Dept of Bangla has been relieved of academic activities following a recommendation from the departmental academic council. He previously went viral on social media for singing, which reportedly sparked widespread criticism.
