The Dhaka University will announce a budget of Tk 2.42 billion tomorrow (Tuesday) for the fiscal 2007-08 with a deficit of Tk 20 million.
DU Treasurer Syed Abul Kalam Azad will place the budget at the first day of the two-day senate session at the university's newly-built Nawab Nabab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban at 3.00 pm.
The major portion of the budget will come from the government coffer.
The target of the university's internal income has been estimated at Tk 150 million this year.
Of the total budget, Tk 950 million will be proposed for salaries and allowances of the teachers, officials and employees, Tk 200 million for the pension, Tk 140 million for general activities and only Tk 130 million for education sector.
