Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman left Dhaka on Saturday morning for Vienna, Geneva and Paris on a 7-day visit at the invitation of National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) of France.
Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will attend Editorial Board Meeting of International Conference on Climate Change and Food Security in South Asia to be held on June 22 at the headquarters of World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in Geneva. He will hold discussion with Director of Research of CNRS Dr Theirry Heulin.
Besides, Prof Akhtaruzzaman will meet both the Rectors of Vienna University and Budapest University and discuss the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes with the universities. In this regard MoU will be signed with the universities during the meeting.
He is expected to return home on June 25. DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Muhammad Samad in addition to his duties will discharge routine work of the vice-chancellor.
