DU VC urges students to utilise ICT to face global challenges

A daylong seminar titled, ‘Fast Track Future Leader’, was held at the Business Studies Faculty Conference Hall of Dhaka University Tuesday.
‘Leveraging ICT for growth, employment and governance’, a project of the Ministry of ICT, and Dhaka University (DU) IT Society with support from the World Bank organised the seminar.
DU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the seminar as the chief guest, according to a news agency.
Chairman of the Department of Television and Film Studies of DU Prof Dr AJM Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan presided over the function while ICT Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan, Joint Secretary Rezaul Karim and Programme Leader of LICT Fakhruzzaman spoke at the inaugural session of the seminar.
Speaking at the seminar, Prof Arefin Siddique stressed the need for spreading information technology (IT) literacy among the general public, including young generation and fresh graduates of the country.
