DUEDAA distributes prizes among winners

Dhaka University Economics Department Alumni Association (DUEDAA) Saturday distributed prizes among the winners of the 3rd DUEDAA essay competition.

The alumni association handed over the prizes to the winners at a function held at Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium of the university, said a press release.

The topic of this year's completion was 'how important is social development for economic growth?'

DUEDAA president Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman presided over the function moderated by its general secretary Prof Dr Farid Uddin Ahmed, also president of Dhaka University Teachers' Association.

DU Economics Department Chairperson Prof Dr Nazma Begum, former High Commissioner to India and senior fellow of Power and Participation Research Centre Ambassador Liaquat Ali Chowdhury and former lead economist of Asian Development Bank, Dhaka M Zahid Hossain, among others, spoke on the occasion.
