Leaders of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) demanded formation of a new wage board to maintain equilibrium between the proposed pay scale for government officials and employees, and the salary structure of journalists and employees, reports BSS.
The DUJ made the demand at an executive committee meeting at National Press Club Friday with its president Altaf Mahmood in the chair. The leaders said the living standard of the journalists and employees of the newspaper industry have become extremely stressed due to continued price hike of essential commodities.
