Eight killed in separate incidents

Eight persons were killed and many others injured in separate incidents in different places of the country during the last two days, report agencies.
In Sirajganj, the slaughtered body of a teenage girl was found in her bedroom at Nukali village in Shahjadpur Upazila Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Afifa Khatun Rabu daughter of Ainal Huq of the village.
Local people said her parents knocked the door of the bedroom of Babu repeatedly in the morning but getting no response they broke the door open and found her slaughtered body lying in a pool of blood. They also found the window grills of her room broken.
The police on information recovered the body and sent it to the Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
The police suspected that miscreants slaughtered Rabu at dead of night entering into her bedroom by cutting the window grills.
In Jessore, a housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband at Bansgram village in Abhoynagar Upazila here Wednesday.
The police said Alauddin of the village took Tk 50,000 from his wife's brother Asadullah as loan some days back. But when Asadullah wanted his money back on Wednesday night, Alauddin got furious.
At one stage, when his wife Farida Khatun tried to meddle with the matter Alauddin beat her mercilessly, leaving her dead on the spot.
Later, he hanged the body from the ceiling of his house to prove that she had committed suicide and went into hiding.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was filed.
In Gaibandha, a housewife was killed allegedly by her husband and his family members at Chalkdaria village under Sadullapur Upazila in the district on June 11. The victim was identified as Josna wife of Abu Taher.
The police and family sources said Abu Taher killed his wife with the help of his brothers and kept the body hidden in a nearby pond following a family feud.
In Rangpur, a minor girl was killed on the spot when a Kurigram-bound night coach from Dhaka crushed her at Kawnia bus stand on Rangpur-Kurigram Highway under Kawnia Upazila here Thursday.
In Gopalganj, two persons were killed in two road accidents in the district yesterday.
The police said van-puller Abu Bakr was killed on the spot when a bus hit his vehicle at Boalia under Moksudpur Upazila.
In Mymensingh, Two sisters were killed and four others, including the parents of the deceased, injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway at Raghamara under Trishal Upazila here in the early hours of today.
The victims were identified as Smriti and Sathi daughters of Raihan.
