CHITTAGONG, Jun 18 (BSS): A Chittagong court indicted Wednesday eight persons for the collapse of an under-construction flyover in Chittagong that claimed 11 lives at Bahaddarhat crossing in 2012.

Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge SM Mojibur Rahman framed charges against the eight persons Wednesday rejecting a no-confidence plea.

Public Prosecutor of Chittagong Metropolitan area advocate Fakhruddin Chowdhury said the judge turned down the petition and ordered indictment of the eight.

The no-confidence petition was filed to further investigate the case against a charge-sheet submitted by police on June 3.

The court ordered for recording of testimonies which will start on July 16, court source added.

Three girders of the under-construction flyover fell on a makeshift kitchen market, killing11 people and injuring at least 20 on November 24 in 2012. Chandgaon thana police filed a case after two days of the incident on November 26, accusing 25 people including six officials of Chittagong Development Authority.
