Elderly man killed by nephew in city

An elderly man was killed by his nephew along with his eight cohorts in the city Saturday over a domestic boundary wall dispute, reports BSS.

The deceased was identified as Shamsuddin Ahmed (70), son of late Omar Ali, House No 38, Nama Shyampur under Kadamtoli thana in the city.

Shamsuddin came under attack of the gang led by his nephew Monwar Hossain Monu when he tried to resist the breaking of the boundary wall of his building at about 9:30 am.

"At one  stage of the attack, Monu hit him in the chest.  Shamsuddin fell down on the ground instantly and died on the spot," officer-in-charge (OC) of Kadamtoli thana Md Mostafizur Rahman told the news agency.

The gang members include: Monwar Hossain, Iqbal Hossain and Jakir Hossain. They took party in the attack with lethal weapons.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.
