A local self-made engineer has developed an environment-friendly electronics turbine digital car 'Raf Raf Tahia' meaning beautiful and speedy, which will require no fuel.
"Gas, oil and mobil are not needed to run the car and there is no engine gear," Amir Hossain, the initiator, said describing the features of the car.
The car is hassle-free as it has no complex engineering function and it saves fuel as well as prevents air pollution, he added.
The speed of the car which can carry five passengers including the driver is 70-80 km per hour. Five chargeable batteries of 12 volts supply the energy which is controlled by electronics turbine to move the car, Amir Hossain explained.
The car can be run by the battery and the heat of the running car will charge the battery automatically, he said.
If the users stop using the car for several times, the battery needs to be charged for six hours. Otherwise there will be no need to charge the battery which will last at least three years.
Amir's daughter Asha, having local training, designed the car according to his description.
The price range of the cars is Tk 0.2-0.3 million (2.0-3.0 lakh).
Many visitors are interested to buy the car but Amir cannot sell the same right at the moment as he is yet to get permission from the authority concerned, he said adding that he had already started the procedure of getting government nod which he will gain soon.
"My cars can be of great use for our country as there presently exists a severe gas crisis here," Mr Amir said.
"I want not only to sell my cars in Bangladesh but also to other countries as these are environment-friendly and require no fuel," Amir added.
