RANGPUR, Dec 4 (UNB): Taken aback at the leak of question papers of primary examinations, Jatiya Party (JP) chairman HM Ershad alleged Thursday that government is not taking any effective step to check the malpractice.

"I'm deeply concerned over the leak of question papers of primary exams. I never hard the question papers of primary exams got leaked," he said.

Ershad, also a special envoy of the Prime Minister (PM), was addressing an orientation programme at Rangpur Carmichael Collegiate School and College.

He claimed that some coaching centers across the country are indulging in leaking the question papers of Primary School Certificate (PSC) exams and providing those to guardians.

"There has been so much erosion of our values that the guardians are providing their innocent children the leaked question papers after colleting those from teachers of different coaching centres," Ershad lamented.

He urged the government to take stringent steps to stop such illegal activities so that nobody dares to engage in it in the future. "Our existence will get endangered as a nation if we fail to prevent the social and moral degradations."

Later, Ershad joined a views-exchange meeting with the doctors of Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH).

Ershad, also the chairman of the Health Committee of RMCH, called upon doctors to work with the mentality of serving people.  "Doctors can serve people more that any other professionals."
