Establishing sense of dignity to check eve-teasing stressed

GOPALGANJ, June 27 (BSS): State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki stressed Friday the need for establishing sense of dignity and relationship of friendship between adolescent boys and children to free the country from the curse of eve teasing.

The state minister said this while addressing a conference of adolescent girls and boys at the Sheikh Fazlul Haq Moni auditorium here Friday.

Organised by Gopalganj women affairs office, the conference was attended by about 1,500 adolescents from 68 clubs in different upazilas of the district.

The state minister said the ministry for women and children affairs has formed adolescent clubs across the country to establish relationship of bilateral compassion between the boys and girls.

Presided over by Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner M Khalilur Rahman, the conference was addressed, among others, by Director General of Department of Women Affairs M Ashraf Hossain, Superintendent of Police (SP) M Mizanur Rahman and local Awami League leader Mahbubur Rahman.
