EU holds first convocation

The first convocation of Eastern University (EU) was held at Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre in the city Wednesday.

Rasheda K Chowdhury, adviser for the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, was the chief guest on the occasion while Prof Sirajul Islam Chowdhury was the convocation speaker.

Abul Kashem Haider, chairman, board of governors of EU also spoke at the ceremony. Prof Rahim B Talukder, Vice-chancellor of the university presented the perspective of the university while Prof Saiful Mazid gave the vote of thanks.

The chief guest said those who have achieved graduation degree are the future leaders and they could take initiative for the betterment of the country.
