Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni along with other guests seen at the 21st Convocation of the East West University on its campus in the city on Tuesday The 21st Convocation of the East West University (EWU) was held on its own campus in the city on Tuesday, says a statement.
As the representative of the President, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, MP, conferred degrees on the students.
In total, 1693 students from both undergraduate and graduate programmes received their certificates. Besides, two students were awarded the prestigious Gold Medal for outstanding academic performance.
Dipu Moni said the post-Covid situation has been changed significantly. She also said steps have been taken to reform the education sector to develop skilled manpower.
Prof Dr Dil Afroza Begum, Chairman (In Charge), University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, was present at the convocation as the special guest.
Dr M A Sattar Mandal, Professor Emeritus and former Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, was the convocation speaker.
Prof Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson (Acting), Board of Trustees, EWU and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, and Prof Dr M. M. Shahidul Hassan, Vice Chancellor, EWU, also spoke on the occasion.
