East West University brought out a 'Provat Ferry' on its campus in the city on Wednesday, marking the International Mother Language Day East West University (EWU) observed International Mother Language Day through a befitting programme on its city campus on Wednesday, says a statement.
The programme started with 'Provat Ferry' and placing wreaths at the 'Shaheed Minar' on the campus.
EWU Clubs for Performing Arts organised a cultural function titled "Obinashwar Bahanno".
Prof Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chief adviser and founder vice- chancellor of EWU, HN Ashequr Rahman, member of the Board of Trustees, EWU, and Prof Shams Rahman, vice-chancellor of the university, attended the programme.
The main speaker of the session was prominent researcher and academician Professor Syed Akram Hossain, who was also awarded 'Ekhushe Padak' and 'Rabrinda Puroskar'.
Members of the Board of Trustees, pro-vice chancellor, treasurer, deans, faculty members, officials, staff and many students of EWU attended the event.
