The 10th Founding Anniversary of East West University (EWU) will be celebrated on 10 November-2007 at the Bangladesh -China Friendship Conference Centre, according to a press release.
The Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Bangladesh Justice Md Ruhul Amin will be the chief guest at this ceremony while Chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh Professor Nazrul Islam will be present as the special guest.
In 1996 the university was established under the Private University Act, 1992 by the Progoti Foundation for Education and Development (PFED) with Mohammed Farashuddin as its first vice chancellor.
Mohammed Sharif, Professor Emeritus of the University of Rhode Island, USA is the current Vice Chancellor of this university.
East West University (EWU) Environmental and Social Club is also going to organise an art competition for the children at 10.00am on the same day and at the same venue to mark the anniversary. This programme will also include "Assistance for the Blind Children," drama and cultural programmes after 4.00 pm.
