Ex-NSI director Monirul sent to jail

A Dhaka court has sent former director (Border) of the National Security Intelligence (NSI) Commodore Monirul Islam to jail on Sunday, rejecting bail petition, reports BSS.

Investigative Officer (IO) of the case produced Monirul, who was arrested in a case filed over the killing of a teenager Bahadur Hossain Moni in the capital during the anti-discrimination movement, before the court after expiry of three-day remand and appealed to send him to jail.

After hearing arguments from the both sides, Magistrate Md Mosharraf Hossain rejected the bail petition and sent him to jail.
