Former chairman of Pubali Bank PLC Moniruddin Ahmed, also an eminent educationist and renowned philanthropist, passed away on Sunday.
He breathed his last at 2:00 pm (Bangladesh time) while undergoing treatment at a hospital in London, says a statement.
The Board of Directors of Pubali Bank PLC along with all executives, officers and employees are deeply shocked and saddened by his demise.
Moniruddin Ahmed is survived by his wife, son and daughter, numerous relatives, colleagues and well-wishers.
He is the founder of Monir Ahmed Academy, a private cadet college.
Moniruddin Ahmed was a former chairman (2001-2002) of Pubali Bank, the largest private sector bank in the country. He also served as a director of the bank from 1984 to 2025.
