The Journalism Alumni Forum of Rajshahi University (JAFRU), a platform of former students of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of the varsity, demanded on Friday proper investigation into the killing of former student Waheeda Seefat and exemplary punishment to her killers.
The demand came at a human chain organised by the platform in front of the National Press Club in the city.
Former students of the RU MCJ and journalists of different print, electronic and online media took part in the human chain, protesting the killing of Waheeda Seefat, a housewife and 14th batch student of MCJ department of the university.
JAFRU members demanded arrest of the killers, including Seefat's husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law, who are allegedly involved in the killing.
It is suspected that on March 29, Seefat was killed by her husband and his family members for dowry at her Rajshahi city residence. A case was filed with Rajpara police station in Rajshahi in this connection.
