FE REPORT | January 02, 2025 00:00:00

Candidates who were left out from the 43rd BCS recruitment despite publication of their names in the government gazette on Wednesday staged a sit-in outside Bangladesh Secretariat demanding their reinstatement in the cadre services.

They thronged a place nearby and observed the agitation programme outside gate No2 of Bangladesh Secretariat.

Later four of the protesters went to the public administration secretary's office and handed over their applications to the government seeking their reinstatement in the cadre services.

The interim government issued a gazette notification on Monday last giving appointment to 1,896 candidates in different cadre services.

Earlier, a gazette notification was also issued on October last year giving appointment to 2,064 candidates in different cadre services.

Later the government decided to make further scrutiny in the list of the candidates and excluded names of 168.

The government on Tuesday issued a stern warning against public servants who have been involved in different programmes to press home their demands violating service rules.

The Ministry of Public Administration said any violation of the provisions of the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1979 shall be considered as misconduct under the Government Employees Discipline and Appeal Rules 2018.
