Experts emphasise formulating policy on use of antibiotics

Health experts put emphasis on formulating a policy or guideline on prescribing antibiotics for patients, reports BSS.

They came up with the observation while addressing a symposium titled "Abuses of Antibiotics in Children" at city's Bangabandhu Inter-national Conference Centre (BICC) on Monday.

Organised by Bangladesh Society for Pediatric Infec-tious Disease (BSPID), the programme was addressed by National Professor Dr MR Khan as the chief guest.

Director General of BIRDEM Hospital Professor Nazmun Nahar, Bangladesh Paediatric Association (BPA) president Prof Mohammod Shahidullah, its secretary general Prof MAK Azad Chowdhury, and Prof Samir Kumar Saha, head of Department of Microbiology of Dhaka Shishu Hospital, addressed the programme as special guests.
