Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Thursday there was no fund crisis in constructing the Dhaka Elevated Expressway, reports BSS.
"Physical work on the expressway was started today... process of fund mobilisation has been started, which is expected to be completed by coming December," he told reporters while inspecting the construction work under the public-private partnership (PPP) project.He said the first phase of land acquisition had been completed while the second and third phases were under process.
Land development work to construct a rehabilitation centre for the people affected by the expressway project was going to start in November, added Quader.
The minister said: "The dwellers of Dhaka city would use the expressway by 2017 if everything is on the track."
