BOGRA, Sept 5 (UNB): Five days into the murder of a schoolgirl in Adamdighi upazila, it was revealed on Friday that she had been killed by her father and other family members.
Abdul Wahab Akand, father of deceased Ruma Khatun, of Sadunia village and five others confessed that they strangulated the Class-VIII girl to death with an intention to frame some neighbours for rape and murder.
Police have already arrested the six who masterminded and executed the killing.
The arrested are Wahab, 43, his brother Zunayed Akanda, 35, and Saiful Akanda, 23, nephew Rabiul, 23, Rabiul's brother-in-law Hasan Mondal, 28, and Ruma's step-grandmother Feroza Begum, 55.
Describing the brutality at Adamdighi thana on Friday morning, Wahab said as part of their plan, they locked Ruma's mother while she was sleeping in a room and broke open another room where Ruma was sleeping around 11pm on August 31.
The six offenders then carried the sleeping girl from her bed to the floor.
As the girl woke up in surprise, they spent no time to gag her voice and gripped her hands and legs until her two uncles strangulated her to death.
Later, around 1:30am of the night, they started screaming about the murder.
The murderers in their confession to police also noted that they had planned the murder to frame neighbours-Abdur Rahman, Shafir Uddin and Ahsan - with whom they had dispute over land.
