The government has decided to appoint M Fazlul Karim, currently serving as Bangladesh Ambassador to Mexico, as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to China.
A career diplomat, M Fazlul Karim served in Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, Bangladesh Embassy in Jakarta, Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC, Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad and Bangladesh Consulate General in Hong Kong in various capacities.
He also served as Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
Belonging to the 1984 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre, Karim obtained his graduation and post-graduation degrees from the University of Dhaka on International Relations.
