Female patient commits suicide at DMCH

A female patient allegedly committed suicide in the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) early Wednesday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Sakhina, wife of Wahid Mia of Ashatali village in Bahubal Upazila of Habiganj district.

Police quoting attendants of the patient said Sakhina had been admitted to the hospital unit on March 10.

Attendants of other patients at the female ward of the unit found the body of Sakhina hanging with the grill of the bathroom on the 3rd floor at about 4:00am, said Sub-inspector M Ansar Ali of Shahbagh Thana.

On information, a police team of Shahbagh police station recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.

An unnatural death case was filed with the police station, SI Ansar added.
