Rotarian FH Arif, past president of Rotary Club of Dhaka, was elected new district governor of Rotary International District 3281 Bangladesh for the session 2017-18, said a press release.
This was disclosed at the Rotary conference held at Bashundhara Convention Centre in the city Saturday.
He is a member of the oldest Rotary Club of Dhaka and associated with service to community through Rotary since 1987.
Earlier, he served as the elected Chief of Rotaract, the youth movement of Rotary, of Bangladesh in 1994-95. Arif was adjudged as the Best Club President (2007-08) and Best Lieutenant Governor (2012-13) for his outstanding services to humanity, while serving the movement in various capacities, and was recognised by Rotary International with the Club Builder Award.
He is a member of BCS (Taxation) Cadre as an Additional Commissioner of Taxes. Rotarian Arif is a Rector's Gold awardee from BPATC, was awarded President Rover Scout Award, CNC Medal, President Medal and the Silver Hilsha Award (second highest national award) of Bangladesh Scouts. His spouse Rotary Ann Rokeya Haq is Specialist in World Bank.
