Fifteen killed in separate incidents

Fifteen persons were killed and many others injured in separate incidents in different places of the country during the last two days, reports agencies.
In Thakurgaon, a couple was killed in lightning at Bhaularhat-Sindurna village in Sadar Upazila Monday morning.
The dead were identified as Abul Hossain and his wife Rokeya.
Sources said thunderbolt struck the couple while they were picking up mangoes from under a tree near their house, leaving them dead on the spot.
In Patuakhali, a man was allegedly killed by his wife at Char Agostopur village in Golachipa Upazila.
The police quoting local people said an altercation ensued between Fazar Ali and his second wife Rahima Begum at night and at one stage she hit him with a wooden seat leaving him critically injured. Later, when called to the house, a local doctor declared him dead.
In Laxmipur, a schoolboy boy was killed when a dilapidated bridge collapsed on him at Purba Dighali village in Sadar Upazila Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Tipu student of class five and son of Siraj of the village.
In Mymensingh, body of a Railway staff was found in a room of Mymensingh Rail Station Monday morning.
Local railway police recovered the body of Shahjalal, 45, employee of power department of the rail station, with a scarf tightened around his neck.
GRP sources said Shahjalal went to his duty in the battery charger room Sunday night.
They suspected that miscreants following a previous enmity might have strangled him to death.
In Thakurgaon, two people, including an octogenarian man, allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in Sadar Upazila.
In Brahmanbaria, two people were killed in lightning at Noyabadi village in Sadar Upazila Sunday afternoon.
Local people said the thunderbolt struck Harun Miah and Alam Miah during heavy rain leaving them dead on the spot.
In Bandarban, a child drowned in a canal falling from a bridge in Islampur area of the district town Sunday noon.
Meanwhile: A tribal man was killed when a speeding jeep overturned in Nilgiri area of the town Sunday morning.
In Jhalakati, at least 35 passengers were injured when a bus plunged into a pond near Baghri High School in Rajapur Upazila Sunday evening.
In Gaibandha, a man was killed by a train at Gaibandha railway station here Sunday noon.
The victim is identified as Mona Miah son of Golam Rasul of Sarkerpara in the town.
In Barisal, the police recovered the body of a teenaged girl from a dense hedge at Gournadi Upazila in the district and arrested two persons in this connection Sunday.
In Netrakona, the police recovered the body of a young man from rain swollen haor near Sajurakhali village in Khaliajuri Upazila of Netrakona district Sunday morning.
In Chapainawabganj, the body of a young man who was missing for three days was recovered from a pond at Gohalbari village under Bholahat Upazila of the district.
