Film actor Abul Kashem Mithun dies

Noted cultural personality and film actor Sheikh Abul Kashem Mithun died in a hospital in Kolkata at 2.00am on Monday at the age of 57, reports BSS.
Film Development Corporation (FDC) sources said he had been suffering from high blood pressure and kidney related diseases for a long time. Mithun was taken to Kotari Hospital in Kolkata a few days ago.
FDC Managing Director Tapan Kumar Ghosh has expressed deep shock at the death of Abul Kashem Mithun. He left behind wife, one daughter and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
In 1980, he debuted his film career by Bazlur Rahman's movie Torulata. He also wrote lyrics of playback song for this movie. He came into limelight to act as a hero in Sheikh Nazrul Islam's movie Eid Mubarak. He also acted in movies Bheja Chokh, Nikah, Kushumkoli, Prem Protigga, Beder Meye Joshna, Swargo Norok, Tyag, Norom Gorom, Ei Jibon Tomar Aamar, etc.
