Fish trader shot at in city, cash looted

A gang of armed hoodlums Saturday shot at a fish trader and looted Tk 25,000 and other valuables after injuring him in the East Rajabazar area in the city, police and hospital sources said, reports BSS.
The victim was identified as Abdul Hamid (40), who on his way to buy fishes from the Karwan Bazar wholesale market.
"A gang of muggers waylaid Hamid in the East Rajabazar Jame Mosque area at about 4:00 am and snatched Tk 25,000 and a mobile phone set by shooting on his leg," police sources said.
Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medica College and Hospital where he was undergoing treatment right now.
None was arrested in this connection, said a spokesman of Sher-e-Banglanagar thana.
