Five dead as bus smashes CNG-auto in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, July 20 (UNB) - Five people, including two of a family, were killed and another was injured as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw crashed into a bus at Mulibari level-crossing on the western side of the Bangabandhu Bridge approach road under Sadar Upazila on Monday night.
All the five deceased were the auto-rickshaw passengers hailing from Belkuchi Upazila. The deceased were identified as Razzak (65), and his daughter Rosina (30), Anwar Hossain (25), son of Delwar Hossain, Momtaz (24), wife of Abdur Razzak, and the auto rickshaw driver Arman (30), son of Abdul Khaleque.
Officer-in Charge (OC) of Bangabandhu Bridge west-side thana Helal Uddin said the accident took place when a Chapainawabganj-bound bus of 'Shaymoli Paribahan' from Narayanganj rammed the auto-rickshaw around 12:30 am killing five of the six passengers of the auto-rickshaw, including its driver, on the spot.
