Five persons were arrested along with 86 gold bars, weighing 10kg, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Sunday, report agencies.
The arrestees were identified as Abdul Halim, Belal Uddin, Sazzad, Alam and Anwar.
Kazi Muhammad Ziauddin, joint commissioner of Airport Customs said, they reached here by a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Dubai at around 2:30 pm.
Tipped off, a team of customs officials challenged the five while they were crossing the boarding bridge of the airport. Customs officials recovered the gold after searching their luggage.
