Five traders held, adulterated cooking oil recovered

SYLHET, Oct 3 (UNB): Five businessmen were arrested and 13,000 litres of adulterated cooking oil recovered in Kalighat area of the city Monday.
BSTI officials in cooperation with RAB and district administration raided the Chowdhury Market in the area and recovered the adulterated cooking oil worth over Tk 1.5 million at night.
The arrested traders were identified as Babul Mia, owner of Saimon Enterprise, Sushil Chandra Roy, owner of Selina Traders, Bijit Babu, Subhash and Asik Mia.
Almost all the shops in the market have long been engaged in selling the adulterated cooking oil using the labels of reputed companies, local people said.
