Focus laid on growing partnership between Bangladesh and China

FE REPORT
Focusing on the growing partnership between Bangladesh and China, speakers at a discussion on Sunday stressed the significance of Chinese President Xi Jinping's book titled 'The Governance of China'.
BNP Standing Committee Member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Road Transport and Bridges Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, Shafiqul Alam, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen and President of China International Communications Group Du Zhanyuan spoke on the occasion.
The Bengali edition of the book titled 'Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (volume one)' was launched in the programme.
Mr Moyeen Khan said the book has shaped China's political culture and strategic direction, influencing initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative and addressing global challenges such as Al and environmental issues.
The book outlines the dynamics of the socio-economic and political machinery of China, he noted.
Mr Fouzul Kabir said the book outlines his vision for China's domestic and global policies.
The book, a multi-volume collection, emphasises national unity, economic development, and the Communist Party's central role, he said, adding that it introduces the concept of the "Chinese Dream," aiming for China to become a global leader in technology and culture.
Xi's philosophy balances market reforms with party dominance, advocates for the rule of law, and promotes multilateralism, he added.
Mr Zhanyuan said through this book, readers can understand China's unique path to modernisation.
"It is the shared aspiration of many developing countries, including China and Bangladesh, to accelerate modernisation and achieve revitalisation of the country and the nation" he added.
"Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, President Xi has led us to successfully advance Chinese modernization," he said, noting President Xi has put forward a series of important ideas and propositions on adhering to the development path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, comprehensively deepening reforms, promoting sustained and healthy economic development, and advancing high-quality development, which have been explicitly explained in the book.
He hoped that China and Bangladesh will strengthen exchanges of governance experiences, and jointly explore the path to modernisation that suits their national conditions.
Mr Taher said that his party highly appreciates the growing partnership between China and Bangladesh.
China has emerged as a leading force in shaping global economics and politics, he noted, adding that initiatives like the Belt and Road contributed a lot to the development of countries like Bangladesh.
Mr Alam said that this book will help people of Bangladesh understand the development miracle of China.
Many in Bangladesh do not know how China lifted nearly one billion people out of poverty and how the administrative units of China work. This book provides a clear picture of these issues, he added.
Mr Wen said as one of the most important initiatives of the China-Bangladesh Year of People-to-People Exchanges, this event marks an important part of experience sharing on state governance.
"Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" contains important works by Chinese President Xi Jinping, from 2012 to 2022, said Ambassador Yao Wen while addressing the launching event.
