Food Ministry apprises CA of preparation

Food Ministry Thursday apprised Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed of the latest position and preparation for launching open market sale (OMS) operation on August 20 to give support to poor and lower-income-group people through sale of essentials at subsidised prices ahead of the holy Ramadan, reports UNB.

As the head of the caretaker government wanted to know about the latest position in connection with the OMS of rice, the Food Ministry apprised him its overall preparation at the CA's office.

Food Adviser AMM Shawkat Ali, Cabinet Secretary, Food Secretary, Secretary of CA's office and representative from Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) were present at the meeting.

CA's press secretary Syed Fahim Munaim, who was at the meeting, briefed newsmen about the meeting.
