'Food security' can play vital role to develop new agro technologies

Food Security is a priority goal for the Government of Bangladesh and researches in different branches of agriculture that can play an important role in developing new agricultural technologies leading to increased production of crops, livestock, fisheries and forest resources.

Scientist of international repute and National Professor AKM Aminul Haque said this while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on 'Household Food Security: Problems and Opportunities for the Resource: Poor Farmers' organised by the PhD Students' Association of the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) at the TSC conference hall of the BAU in Mymensingh recently.

Chaired by Co-coordinator, CASR of BAU Prof M Burhan Uddin, the inaugural session was attended, among others, by BAU Vice-Chancellor Md Akhtar Hossain as the chief patron, ACI Limited (Agri-Business) Executive Director FH Ansarey was the special guest.

A total of 31 research papers and articles were presented in the seminar.

BAU PhD Association President Md Aftab Hossain and its General Secretary Md. Abdul Awal spoke on the occasion.
