Footwear factory gutted in city

A fire broke out in a footwear factory in the city's Bangshal area Saturday night, burning down good number of shoes, reports UNB.
Fire service officials said the fire originated from an electric shot-circuit at a room in the factory on the fourth floor of a six-storey building in the area at around 10:00 pm and it soon engulfed the entire room.
On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after an hour of frantic efforts.
