The state-run Formalin Testing Centre at the capital's Karwan Bazar would run for another year after Square Bangladesh came forward to help the authorities continue their services.
On July 14 this year, the fisheries and livestock ministry set up the centre at the city's largest retail kitchen market for four months on experimental basis to ensure sales of formalin-free fishes.
Buoyed by success of the centre and because of availability of assistance from Square Bangladesh Consumer Products Limited, the government has now decided to extend the services up to November 2010, the home ministry said Thursday in a statement.
