Former caretaker govt adviser expires

AKM Amanul Islam Choudhury, former advisor of caretaker government in 2001 died from Corona on Monday in a city hospital. He was 83, family sources said, says a statement.
Younger brother of noted educationist and writer Prof Serajul Islam Choudhury, Mr Amanul was in charge of Power, Energy, Mineral and Water resources ministries in the 2001 caretaker government.
He stood first in Engineering cadre in the competitive examination of Public Service Commission in whole Pakistan. Earlier he obtained first class first position from Ahsan Ullah Engineering College in 1958.
During his career, he served as additional DG of Bangladesh Railway and chairman of Chittagong Port Trust and DESA.
