KHAGRACHORI, July 7 (BSS): A group of miscreants abducted four construction workers engaged in a bridge development project from Bangmara area under Matiranga Upazila at about 10.30 pm Sunday.
Police and local people said miscreants abducted them for extortion of money. Members of Police and Army began drives to rescue them.
The abducted are bulldozer driver M Raju, his assistant M
Hasan, Estimator M Faroq and his assistant M Liakat.
ASP Shajahan quoting caretaker Shuniti Bikash Chakma said the miscreants were looking for representatives of the contractor for extortion.
ASP said they abducted the workers as the contractor was not there.
