Police said the four people arrested with suspected links to the murder of a dentist in Dhaka's Mirpur are muggers, reports bdnews24.com.
The arrestees were identified as Raihan, 27, Rasel, 25, Aryan, 23, and Solaiman, 23.
The four are 'muggers by profession' and are part of a gang of five, Detective Branch Additional Commissioner Hafiz Akhtar said at a press conference on Wednesday.
They stabbed Bulbul during the mugging and police found no connection to his business or prior enmity, he said.
Dentist Ahmed Mahi Bulbul was stabbed near the Shewrapara Metro Rail Station on March 27.
Ahmed, 38, used to practise dentistry at the 'Rangpur Dental' chamber in Moghbazar. He also ran a contract business called 'Messrs Rangpur Traders'.
Ahmed left his Shewrapara residence at dawn that day to go to Noakhali. He was attacked on the street in an incident police initially said they were treating as a mugging.
After the attack, pedestrians took Ahmed to a local hospital but he was later transferred to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
